A Window to the Fatherland – Monday 23 April 2018

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

We will continue the program with a short report on my trip to Germany to attend the birthday party of my old and loyal friend Mehdi Khanbaba Tehrani.

On this day back in 1977 there was a coup in Afghanistan, and after the revolution in Iran General Gharani, was assassinated by the agents of the new regime in Iran.

Revolutionary Guards commander Ali Fadavi has reacted to Rouhani’s indirect criticism of the force for their hunger for power and wealth by saying that the Guards do not belong to Iran and the Iranian people, rather to “the deprived people of the world”.

Yet another honest confession to the fact that this corrupt and repressive military force have never felt for the Iranian nation and their aspirations for freedom, independence and prosperity, as they are the defenders of the murderous regime of Bashar Assad in Syria, the Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen.

Rouhani’s recent rightful criticism of the Guards for their corruption and involvement in politics on the side of the most reactionary and backward religious forces in Iran has surely caused some stir among their top brass and each one of them is nowadays hurriedly jumping to the front to belittle his comments, forgetting the fact that Rouhani is only reflecting the views of the Iranian people on them.

The anti-regime mass protests in the city of Kazeroon has continued unabated and it must be said that those who claim to be Iranian Arabs but utter separatist slogans in our country have nothing to do with our Iranian Arab sisters and brothers who are in unison with the rest of the Iranians of all colors and faiths in fighting for a secular democratic Iran beyond the present tyrannical regime.

In the second part of the program our Paris correspondent Mohammad Reza Shaheed who has travelled to Washington for covering the official visit of President Macron to the US will be reporting for our TV station.

Mohammad Reza Shaheed:

President Macron’s airplane will touch down at 1 pm local time and in Washington’s political circles his visit to the US is the most important from any French leaders over the last quarter of a century.

He is scheduled to hold talks with President Trump and members of his cabinet and their discussions would be focused on Iran, North Korea and Syria, as well as trade agreements.

But on the question of if Macron will be able to convince President Trump to stay in the nuclear deal with Iran or not, the French leader has publicly said that if Trump has an alternative plan then he should introduce it, otherwise the current deal is the best to stick to.

My own view is that Trump will not pull America out of this nuclear deal.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

We will continue the program with a short report on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Iran’s Association of Writers, and how ayatollah Alam Ulhoda’s has protested to the sale of women’s underwear in the holy city of Mashhad, as well the fake news about a military coup in Saudi Arabia.

Stay with us for this edition of A Window to the Fatherland and share it with your family and friends.
