A Window to the Fatherland- Tuesday 10 July 2018

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

We continue the program with the latest news about the arrest of Maedeh Hojabri, an 18-year-old girl who was detained by police after posting a video of her dancing to Western pop music in her bedroom and her arrest has met with widespread condemnation of the regime.

We will also listen to the threats made by the Chief of Police Forces Touraj Kazemi and the regime’s national broadcasting organisation in this respect.

Later we will continue the program with watching a video clip in which Khamenei speaks after the 18th of Tir student uprising 19 years ago and how the regime cracked down on it.

We ask him where he was then and where he is now. He must be ashamed of himself to see how the Iranian people are openly crying about their plight under his despotic rule.

We will also watch a vide clip in which the religious thinker Mohsen Kadivar condemns the theory of Velayateh Faghih and ask him where are the once respected Shia religious leaders who advocated progressive ideas?

May be their rich children who are at the service of the ruling regime do not have a habit of opening their mouth to complain about the horrific treatment of Maedeh Hojabri by the thugs of the regime. Or do not have the guts and shy away from defending a defenceless young woman who has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for just removing her headscarf.

In the second part of the program we will discuss how under Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf, the former mayor of Tehran, a number of Revolutionary Guard commanders and a high ranking military officer had been involved in massive corruption cases by getting bribes from certain people to issue property deeds for them.

The extent of the corruption has been so great that Mohsen Hashemi has disclosed that more than 26000 complaint cases have been involved in them.

At the end of the program we will look at United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s comments about the “global effort” that is needed to rein in the regime and have it act as a “normal country”.

In his first visit to the United Arab Emirates since becoming Secretary of State, Mr Pompeo has spoken about Iran’s regional destructive behaviour and the international action needed to curb it.

Pompeo has said that the cost to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, and specifically Quds Force leader Qassem Soleimani had to be increased in order to deter them.

And at the end we will have the latest news of the protests against the water shortage in Borazjan.
